Parents’ Association
Welcome back to the new school year, a particular welcome to the parents and guardians of boys in our third classes who are new to the school.
Belgrove Parents’ Association is made up of parents / guardians of boys in the school and is run on a voluntary basis. The Association is affiliated to the National Parents Council (Primary) through which parents’ views and concerns are expressed directly to the education authorities. The association aims to work in conjunction with the school to represent the views and interests of all the parents & children. The Association has a representative on the Board of Management and is in regular contact with the principal in relation to various activities. There are currently 21 members on the committee and a great group of volunteers. Volunteers wishing to join the Parents’ Association are always welcome. Should you wish to get involved as a committee member or as a volunteer then please contact any of the following members:

The Association meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 8.30p.m. and the meeting usually lasts approximately an hour.
Upcoming Events 2011/2012
Credit Union Savings Scheme
The Credit Union Savings Scheme within the school has been setup. The aim of this scheme ise to encourage the boys to open their own Credit Union Accounts in which they would save regularly. Coolock & Artane Credit Union works with the school running this savings scheme and has trained up volunteers to do the administration, which is coordinated by the Parents’ Association. Credit Union money is collected from the boys in school on Friday mornings. Anyone wishing to volunteer to help run this scheme should contact a member of the Parents’ Association.
The Chess Club
The Chess Club has recommenced again this year. All boys are invited to come each Friday during lunch times to play chess in a friendly and supervised environment.
Parents’ Show and Tell: do you have a particular skill or hobby which might be of interest to the boys? If so, Mr. Frankie Byrne would be delighted to welcome you to the school to share your knowledge. Contact our secretary Mariette in the school office.
Book Fair – November 2012. The parents’ association facilitate a book fair at which a wide range of fiction and non-fiction books suitable primary school children are available. The boys can buy directly in school or can come with their parents on Monday evening 21st November between 7-9 pm.

Healthy living week – April 2012. During the course of the week heathy living is promoted by discussing and trying healthy foods and new activities.
